Hotmoon Cocoon 2 Named a 2026 Wirecutter Pick

We’re delighted to share that Hotmoon Cocoon 2 has been selected by Wirecutter as one of the 4 Best White Noise Machines of 2026.

In its testing, Wirecutter found Cocoon 2 to be a standout among budget-friendly sound machines, praising its extensive sound library, intuitive controls, thoughtful design, and elegant appearance.

For us, this recognition is a wonderful affirmation of what we set out to create: a simple, beautiful sound machine that makes it easier to create a soothing space for rest.

40 Sounds to Match the Moment

One of the things that sets Cocoon 2 apart is its 40 built-in sounds—the largest sound library Wirecutter found among machines in its price range.

Alongside familiar favorites like thunderstorms, ocean waves, and babbling brooks, Cocoon 2 offers a variety of everyday and unconventional sounds, including fans, a clothes dryer, a vacuum, and the gentle hum of a crowd.

Whether you’re looking to mask background noise, create a familiar atmosphere, or simply find a sound that feels right for the night, there’s plenty to explore.

Designed for Effortless Bedtime Use

A large sound library is only useful when it’s easy to navigate. Cocoon 2 features dedicated touch-sensitive controls that make finding your preferred sound simple.

Its gently sloped interface is easy to reach from bed, while the buttons automatically light up when touched, giving you a quick 10-second window to make an adjustment—even in the middle of the night.

And because the controls are touch-sensitive, you don’t need to press down on traditional buttons.

Dual Speakers for a More Immersive Sound

Cocoon 2 features a dual-speaker design that helps create a fuller, more immersive listening experience.

From steady background noise to nature sounds and lullabies, the two-speaker setup helps sound fill the space around you, making Cocoon 2 more than just a practical white noise machine—it becomes part of the atmosphere of your room.

A Sound Machine That Belongs on Your Nightstand

Wirecutter’s testers also appreciated Cocoon 2’s appearance.

With its soft fabric exterior and subtle multicolored night-light, Cocoon 2 is designed to feel at home beside your bed rather than simply function as another piece of electronics.

Its understated, calming design pairs naturally with a bedroom environment, complementing the quiet ritual of winding down at night.

Lullabies for Little Ones—and Grown-Ups, Too

Cocoon 2 is also Wirecutter’s only pick among its selections that offers lullabies.

The gentle melodies can be a comforting addition to a baby’s bedtime routine—or simply something soothing for adults to listen to while getting ready for sleep.

Because sometimes the sounds that help us relax don’t have to be complicated. A familiar melody can be enough.

A Thoughtful Gift for Better Rest

A good gift doesn’t always need to be exciting or complicated. Sometimes, the most thoughtful gifts are the ones that become part of everyday life.

With its beautiful design, versatile sound library, dual-speaker system, and simple controls, Hotmoon Cocoon 2 makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who could use a calmer bedroom and more restful nights.

Whether it’s for a new parent, a partner, a friend, or someone who simply deserves a little more time to unwind, Cocoon 2 is a gift that says:

Rest well. Sleep deeply. Take care of yourself.
